This will be a specialty class instruction on basic mig welding.  It is NOT intended to certify you in any welding processes, but introduce you to the basic process of fusing metals together for your projects.  It is possible we will have tig welding too.

Class discussion will include safety equipment, metal preparation, basic welding techniques, power selection, etc.

As part of the instruction, you will actually be welding up a project. We are thinking about a “junk yard art” item from metal odds and ends or it might end with welding some tools/jig/fixtures together.  It could be a shovel, perhaps a railroad spike or horseshoe, maybe even a spring or two.  It will be up to you as to what you create.  You can even bring In your own “junk metal” stuff to weld up if you like.  Half of the challenge is just sorting through various items and then figuring out how to weld them into some new “junk yard art.”

If you have your own welding helmet and gloves please bring those.

Bring your own lunch. We will take a mid-class break. We will have water. When you sign up to take this class, you understand there are no refunds. This class WILL take place in a shop with limited space and you may need to share a space and welder.  Ample time is given for all students to weld and get some hands on training.
